As a member of "Generation Z," I spent my character-building adolescent years watching (and re-watching) Wayne's World films and Saturday Night Live skits.
Almost twenty years later, I find myself snickering to myself whenever someone uses the word "necessitate" or when I call someone a "psycho hose beast" without blinking an eye.
With that, I present One Wayne A Day, a (almost) daily supplement, of sorts, to help satisfy the sarcastic and media-savvy needs of those raised in the 90's. You'll be surprised by how frequent Wayne-isms permeate day-to-day life!

There was a girl sitting on a mini-tramp last night, outside the coffee shop on the corner of N Killingsworth and N Commercial. Naturally, the only thing that came to mind as I walked by was:
“I did a project on Sweden in the 8th grade. I stayed up all night working on it, had to drink like 20 cups of coffee to keep me awake. The next day in gym class we went on the mini tramp and I got diarrhea. I really wish I hadn’t told you that…”
I’m home home this weekend, and unfortunately laid-up with a tweaked left ankle. To help entertain me, my brother just shared some GEMS.
Since my copies of Wayne’s World and Wayne’s World 2 are both VHS (old school!), it never crossed my mind that there may be some “special features” floating around there for all DVD owners. Though it’s not much in the realm of extras, his copies both include short vignettes about the filming process and quips from the actors and production team.
I had no idea, first off, that Mike Myers spoke Cantonese already. He doesn’t really say anything besides “Zang” and have a brief conversation with Cassandra’s dad in the sequel, but apparently he’s been a speaker for quite some time.
It was an interesting watch through and through. I encourage everyone to check it if only just for the story about why Garth is constructing a mechanical hand. Fascinating! Also…NERD ALERT!
